How to downgrade visionOS on Apple Vision Pro

Things required to downgrade visionOS

Apart from the headset itself and patience, you will need several other tools to downgrade visionOS on your Apple Vision Pro. Therefore, before proceeding, make sure you have all of these items on hand:


● Apple Vision Pro Developer Strap

● USB-C to USB-C cable

● A Mac running macOS Sonoma or later

● Apple Configurator

● visionOS IPSW restore image

● Step 1: Install the Apple Vision Pro Developer Strap onto your Apple Vision Pro.


Step 2: Connect your Apple Vision Pro to your Mac using a USB-C cable through the USB-C port on the developer strap. 


Step 3: Connect the power cable from the battery pack to your Apple Vision Pro, and then press and hold the top button on the device until you see the Connect to Mac glyph on the front of the display. 


Step 4: To open the Apple Vision Pro image on your Mac, first open Apple Configurator and then double-click on the image.


Step 5: Click on Actions in the menu bar, hold down the Option key on your Mac's keyboard, and then click on Restore. 


Step 6: Go to the VisionOS IPSW restore image and click on Restore.


Once you have downgraded your Apple Vision Pro, you can disconnect the USB-C cable and quit the Apple Configurator on your Mac. You may also reattach the regular audio strap if you wish to. 

Although this process can be a bit lengthy, it may interest many enthusiasts. But, once you do it, you'll find it easier next time.
