MG Comet EV: MG Motor India has updated its MG Comet EV lineup to offer faster charging capabilities. This feature will be available in its new Excite FC and Exclusive FC variants. The prices of these variants are Rs 8.24 lakh and Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.


The Comet EV's new 7.4 kW AC fast charging option allows it to be fully charged in less than 3.5 hours, compared to about seven hours with a 3.3 kW AC charger. In April last year, the company launched Comet EV. Its range is about 230 km. It has 12-inch steel wheels. Its battery is 17.3 kWh. It is a subcompact hatchback with two doors and four seats. MG Comet EV measures 2,974 mm in length, 1,505 mm in width, and 1,631 mm in height. 

MG Motor Comet EV

Its electric motor generates power of 41.42 bhp and torque of 110 Nm. It has two 10.25-inch screens. One of these is for the instrument cluster, and the other is for entertainment. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have been provided with this electric car. It competes with Tata Motors' Tiago EV and Citroen E-C3. The company has tied up with Jio Platforms for connected car features in the Comet EV. These features include a voice assistant. With this, music apps, payment apps, connectivity platforms, and hardware have been integrated.


The voice assistant in the Comet EV will be called Hello Jio Voice Assistant. This voice assistant has been trained to understand different regional dialects. The system is integrated with dialogues providing information about weather, news, cricket, and many other topics. Through this, users will also get the facility to play songs and turn on or off the air conditioner. Jio's e-SIM has been integrated into the Comet EV, which will enhance the safety of the vehicle. Sales of electric vehicles have increased rapidly in the last few years. Many automobile companies are launching their vehicles in this segment.
