The BYD e2 Glory Edition is now available in two variants, with a starting price of RMB 89,800 ($12,500) and RMB 96,800 ($13,500). This is a decrease of RMB 13,000, or 12.65 percent, from the model's previous starting price of RMB 102,800 ( ($14,300)

BYD has launched the e2 Glory Edition, a family-oriented pure electric vehicle with a range of 405 km. The vehicle comes equipped with a blade battery pack and a single motor, which delivers a maximum power of 70 kW. The e2 Glory Edition offers style, efficiency, and comfort at an affordable price, making it an ideal choice for middle-income consumers. 

BYD's goal is to strengthen its dominance in the EV market by helping people rapidly upgrade from petrol vehicles to electric options. The company has decided to lower the price of the e2 Glory Edition to remain competitive in the Chinese EV market, as other companies like Xpeng, Zeekr, and SAIC-GM-Wuling have also reduced the prices of their electric vehicles.

Moreover, BYD is updating its lineup of affordable models, such as the Qin Plus and Chaser 05, with lower-priced versions. This product update reflects BYD's move to replace conventional petrol vehicles with new energy options on a large scale, capture more market share, and accelerate EV adoption across the country.
